A Scout Ship

Overview

The scout ship gives you extra battlefield visibility by informing you about the locations of enemies in your culture. The rate at which the scout ship reports is configurable in order to be less or more spammy as you desire. Scout ships also deter spies by increasing their Exposure more quickly when they are in range.

  • Range: 400 blocks.
  • Scout ship rate: can set using the command (/town set scoutrate [10,30,60 seconds]).

The Scout ship is a critical structure to the defense of a town. Unlike the Arrow ship or Cannon ship it has a much larger effective range and does not fire upon enemies. Scout ships can be identified from other ships by the blue color of the sails.

Notification of Non-Member Positions

It will also display their locations every 60 seconds (adjustable value). This gives your town members the ability to hunt down and kill any trespassers and keeps enemies on their toes. Having about 60 seconds to move will allow enemies a chance to elude their pursuers and makes tunneling into an enemy town much less effective.
